Darryl L. Vahrenkamp
January 14, 1945 - August 27, 2014

Darryl Lynn Vahrenkamp Sr. 69, passed away peacefully into the Lord's hands surrounded by his family August 27, 2014. A celebration of his life will be 1 p.m. Saturday, August 30,2014 at OakCrest Funeral Home with Rev. Kenny Parker officiating. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Friday, August 29, 2014 at OakCrest Funeral Home, 4520 Bosque Blvd.

Darryl was born January 14, 1945 at Providence Hospital, Waco Texas to Herbert H. and Bertha L. Vahrenkamp. He was a life-long resident of Waco and graduated from Waco High School in 1964 and was a member of First United Methodist Church of Waco. Darryl married Martha Gayle Johnson on July 11, 1970 and had two sons Darryl L. Vahrenkamp and Michael Ray Vahrenkamp.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and brother, Billy Ray Vahrenkamp.

He is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Martha Vahrenkamp; sons, Darryl L. Jr. and wife, Debbie of China Spring, and Michael Vahrenkamp; brother, Kenneth P. Vahrenkamp and wife, Jennie of Allen, TX; granddaughters, Toni Kay Vahrenkamp, Courtney Gorman, and Lindsey Eggert and husband, Ben; grandsons, Hunter and Hayden Vahrenkamp and Jacob Sowder; and great-granddaughter, Madelyn Eggert.

The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the staff at St. Catherines Hospice for their compassionate and loving care during this time.
