Obituary for Florianna Widacki "Ann" Osborne

Florianna Widacki Osborne (Ann) went home to be with Jesus Saturday, July 19,
2014. Visitation will be Friday at Oak Crest funeral home in Waco. A rosary will
be said at 9:45 a.m. Saturday, July 26, followed by a funeral mass at St. Mary's
Catholic Church in Waco, Fr. Cyril Ejaidu and Deacon Greg George officiating.
Mrs. Osborne will be laid to rest next to her brother, Msgr. Roman J. Widacki, in
St. Mary's Cemetery, Bremond, TX.

Born in Bremond, TX on February 24, 1926 to Theodore and Josephine Widacki,
Ann's ancestors emigrated from Poland establishing the first Polish settlement in
Robertson County. Third of five children, Ann graduated from Bremond High
School and moved to Waco where she attended Providence School of Nursing as
a member of the Cadet Nurse Corp. Graduating in 1944, Ann's professional
nursing career spanned over 42 years but she continued to read and educate
herself in all things medical sharing her knowledge and experience with family
and friends.

On November 30, 1947, Ann and William (Bill) A. Osborne were joined in holy
matrimony and in 1950 celebrated the birth of their first of five daughters. Ann
was proudest of her family, her daughters, granddaughters, and great-
granddaughter.

During the last year of her life, she began writing poetry - expressing her
thoughts and opinions on social issues ranging from medical care for seniors to
integrity in the performance of manufactured products such as home appliances.
With insightful perception and clever turn of phrase she advocated qualities such
as honor, loyalty, and truthfulness - those of the greatest generation. She loved
her faith and was a strong advocate for the Christian values with which she was
raised.

She loved her Bible and left her family with a legacy of salvation and faith in
God's promises. She passed from this world peacefully in the comfort of her
home, with the companionship of her two cherished cats. Our beloved Mother,
friend, advocate, advisor, and intercessor, all who knew her are left with a void,
each holding their own memories of a very special person. She will be missed
greatly for her wisdom, her humor, and her unending love and support for her
church, family and friends.
