Obituary for Richard John Niemeyer

Richard J. Niemeyer
July 27, 1936 – July 1, 2014

Richard John Niemeyer, beloved husband, parent, and papa, 77, of Waco,
passed away July 1, 2014, following a brief illness. The family
will have a private family gathering later.

He was born July 27, 1936 in Toledo, Ohio to the late Elizabeth and
Hugo Niemeyer. He lived his life in Toledo until joining the Air Force after
high school.

He met his kindred spirit Sybil Willis on a blind date. They fell in love the
minute they met and Richard proposed on the second date. They were
married May 24, 1964 and moved to Bangor, Maine where Richard began
his military carrier as an Air Force KC-135 pilot. They then traveled the
United States moving from base to base.

Richard is survived by his wife of 50 years, Sybil; children; Cindy Madewell of Midland; Holly Schrader and husband Jack D. Schrader of Waco; and Richard
Niemeyer II. of Jacksonville, Ark., and Scott Madewell of Midland.
He is also survived by 5 grandchildren: Austin, Haley, Megan, Cole, and
Zoe whom he loved to tease and confuse by using big words.

The family thanks the Baylor/Scott & White MICU, ER and 4th floor caregivers
for the loving care given to our father.

In lieu of flowers, hug your loved ones today.
