January 17, 1915 – April 13, 2014

Harvey W. Osment, 99, of Lott, passed away on Sunday, April 13, 2014. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, April 16, 2014 at OakCrest Funeral Home, with Pastor Stephen Ramsdell officiating. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m., Tuesday, April 15, 2014 at OakCrest Funeral Home, 4520 Bosque Blvd, Waco, TX.

Harvey Weldon Osment was born to Oscar and Julia (Silas) Osment in Cego, TX. He married Aldonia Chappell, October 17, 1936 and were married for 75 years. Harvey served in the U.S. Army from April 1944 to October 1945. After retiring from Waco Meat Service, with 35 years of service as their mechanic, he loved to spend his time fishing, dancing, traveling, silver and turquoise jewelry making and spending time with his family. He was also a member of the 1st United Methodist Church of Lott, Carolina Masonic Lodge, Scottish Rite Mason with Silver Trowel designation, and drummer for the Karem Shrine Oriental Band.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Aldonia; son, Harvey Dean (Buddy); parents, Oscar and Julia Osment; sister, Evelyn; great-grandson, Grey.

He is survived by his son, John W. Osment and wife, Carolyn of Arlington, TX; daughters, Rochelle Mercer and husband, Marvin of Waco, Saundra Karnes and husband, John of Woodway, Bobbie Fiedler and husband, David of Bryan, TX; sisters, Irene Crosby of Ft. Worth, TX, Louise Sirney of Temple, TX; 11 grandchildren, 15 great- grandchildren, 13 great great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be grandsons, Paul, Eric, and Kent Fiedler, James Karnes; sons-in-law, David Fiedler, and John Karnes.
