Obituary for Benito Zavala

Benito Zavala, 66, of Waco, passed away Tuesday, June 29, 2010. Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, July 3, 2010 at Oakwood Cemetery with Albert Fuentes officiating. Visitation will be 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday at OakCrest Funeral Home, 4520 Bosque Blvd.

Benito was born March 6, 1944 in Waco to Benito Zavala, Sr and Eva Siller Zavala. He was a welder for over 37 years having worked at Mosley Machinery and Time Manufacturing until his retirement in 1997. He loved fishing, garage sales and listening to music. He was a member of First Mexican Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Mary Frances Garcia Zavala; brother, Tony Zavala; and nephew, Francisco Olivarez.

Benito is survived by his daughters, Janie Olivarez, Judy Gonzales and husband, Robert and Janet Kasting and husband, Chad; sons, Frank Olivarez, Ray Olivarez and Carlos Olivarez and wife, Amalia; grandson, Ray "No No" Olivarez; sisters, Janie Jones, Gracie Lopez, Yolanda Olivarez, Olga Puckett, Gloria Luna, Frances Roses, Rosalinda Tovar and Maria Zavala; brothers, Joe Zavala, Gilbert Vela, Joe Vela, Jr. and Maximo Vela.
