Obituary for Isadore G. Urive

Isadore Urive Sr., 70, of Waco, passed away Sunday, January 4, 2009 at Jeffrey Place Nursing Center.

Services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at OakCrest Funeral Home with Rev. Abraham Silas officiating. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday at OakCrest Funeral Home, 4520 Bosque, with a Prayer Service at 7 p.m. A memorial video honoring his life will be shown during the visitation and service.

Isadore was born in Groesbeck, but soon moved to Waco where he lived most of his life. He was a contractor who installed carpets until his retirement. He was married September 22, 1956 in Waco to Jennie Aguilar. He served for five years in the Army National Guard.

For 28 years he has been a member of Faith Baptist Church in Waco. Isadore was dedicated to the Lord and he lived a faithful Christian life. He loved his family, and had a wonderful generous heart. He will be dearly missed.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Manuel and Sotero and a sister, Faye Urive Rodriguez.

He is survived by his wife, Jennie; sons, Isadore Urive Jr., Gabriel Urive and wife Janie, and Andrew Urive and wife, Anissa, all of Waco; daughter, Belinda Hudson and husband, Wendell of Tuscaloosa, Ala.; sister, Alma Trevino and husband, Steve of West; grandchildren, Jennifer, Michelle, David, Michelle, Gilbert, Gabriel Jr., Samantha, Jessica, and Andreanna; and 12 great-grandchildren; and a brother-in-law, Paul Rodriguez.

Pallbearers will be Gabriel Urive Jr., Rudy Montoya Jr., Ronnie Rodriguez, Ronald Booker, David Lopez Jr., and Gilbert Salinas,Jr..
