Obituary for K Edward Quinn

K Edward Quinn, 73, passed away at home on February 20, 2008.

Born on January 23, 1935, he was a lifelong resident of Waco. Graveside services will be 12 p.m. Saturday at Rosemound cemetery with Father David Leibham officiating.

The rosary will be recited 5 p.m. Friday at OakCrest Funeral Home, 4520 Bosque Blvd. with visitation to follow.

K Edward proudly served in the United States Marine Corps, touring the Pacific with the FMFPac Drum and Bugle Team and performing before Japanese Emperor Hirohito and Chinese leader Chiang Kai-shek.

He married Esther Bredeck of Albany, Minn., on November 8, 1958, and later worked with the R.E. Cox Company in Waco for 37 years.

He loved painting, fishing, reading and, especially, his family. He was a member of St. Louis Catholic Church.

K Edward was preceded in death by his father, A.C. "Pete" Quinn; mother, Neita Knouff Quinn; a grandmother he dearly loved, Joanna Belle "Neita Mom" Knouff; and sister, Martha Quinn Shackelford.

He is survived by his wife, Esther, of Waco; brother, Frank, of Fort Worth; sons Mark of Tennessee, Michael and wife Chiemi of lshigaki, Japan, and Dan of Austin; daughter Deanna and her husband Ken Marek of Lorena; six grandchildren, Nicholas, Michelle, Karina and Melina Quinn, Michael Bayer, and Keaton Marek; and two great-grandchildren, Paxton and Colton Quinn.
