Obituary for Rebecca Denard

Rebecca  Denard
Nancy Rebecca Denard, 74, of Waco, passed away Saturday, May 14, 2016, at her home surrounded by her family. Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 17, at Chapel Hill Cemetery with Rev. Matt Bailey officiating. There will not be a visitation.

Becky was born in Waco to Jim and Kathryn (Walker) Searcy, and was raised in Oglesby. In 1959 she graduated from Oglesby High School where she was an athlete, cheerleader, and homecoming queen. She moved to Waco in 1969.

Becky loved life and loved her family. She loved traveling, dancing, and Baylor basketball. Becky worked at M&M Mars from 1975 to her retirement in 2000.

Becky was married to John Blanchard in 1958, and to that union three children were born. In 1975, she married Floy L. Denard Jr.

Becky was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Floy; her two sons, Randy Blanchard and Todd Blanchard; and brother, Graham Searcy.

She is survived by her loving companion, Jerry Paris; daughter, Candy Perkins and husband, Phillip; grandsons, Brandon Eary and wife, Katie, and Billy Perkins; granddaughters, Maddie Blanchard and Lindsey Blanchard; great-grandson, Kristion Perkins; and daughter-in-law, Rhonda Blanchard-Padgett.

The family appreciates the care given by Leisel and Connie of Hillcrest Hospice, and friends Ruth and Yvonne.

Memorials may be made to the Lorena United Methodist Church, 205 S. Bordon St., Lorena, TX 76655.
