Obituary for Johnny R. Tejada

Johnny R. Tejada, 82, of Waco, passed away, Monday, June 13, 2016. Mass of Christian burial will be Friday, June 17, at 10:00 am at St. Francis Catholic Church, with Rev. Benjamin Magnaye as Celebrant. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday, June 16, from 6:00 to 8:00 pm, with Rosary at 6:30 pm, at OakCrest Funeral Home.

Mr. Tejada was born April 6, 1934 to Luis and Lucia (Ramirez) Tejada, in Waco, Texas. He attended Waco schools and graduated from Waco High School. After graduation he joined the U. S. Air Force,
retiring with the rank of Master Sargent. He was a true gentleman and was a loving son, husband, father, grandfather and a good friend to all.

He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Maria Ester Tejada; and several siblings, including his younger brother, Gilbert.

He is survived by his wife Lupe Fajardo; daughters, Rosa Longshore and husband Jim, of Pauline, S.C., and Marie Fajardo Reyes of Waco, TX; sons, Luis Eduardo Tejada and wife, Rita, of Waco, TX, Lee Anthony Tejada and wife, Angela, of Bossier City, LA, Jesse Fajardo and wife, Shirley, Robert Fajardo and wife, Teresa and Daniel Fajardo and wife, Nancy all of Waco, TX.; grandchildren, Angel David Diaz II, Cristina Jean Walters, Nicholas Edward Tejada, Natalie Renee Tejada, Austin Lee Tejada, Jacob Anthony Tejada, and Bailey Rene Tejada; great grandchildren, Allyson K. Wetmore, Payton V. Walters, Olivia M. Walters Aubrey D. Diaz and Emma M. Diaz; and his loving pet, “Rusty”.
