Obituary for Kermit Martin Thompson

Kermit Martin Thompson passed from this life Wednesday, July 13, 2016 in Temple with his family by his side. Services will be 10 a.m. Friday, July 22 at OakCrest Funeral Home in Waco.

Kermit was born August 20, 1957 in Gatesville, to Sid Thompson and Mary Louise Schoenewolf Thompson. He attended Gatesville schools and graduated in 1976. He has been a mechanic starting at the age of 15 working for numerous companies throughout his life.

Kermit has overcome many problems in his life and the one he is most proud of is his Addiction Recovery giving Touch Stone Recovery credit for saving his life. He became very active at Triangle Group of Waco for his AA Group. He was extremely proud of the fact he had been clean for 25 months and started sponsoring people.

He is preceeded in death by his parents and a brother, Kenneth Thompson.

He is survived by his children, Mary (Christie) Thompson, Michael and wife Sheena Thompson, and Michelle (Shelly) Thompson, Sister Diane and husband Carvel Good, Sister in law Bobbie Thompson, mother of his children Barbara Thompson Coates, 5 grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, and cousins and other extended AA family.
