Obituary for Lawrence Burton Lillard



Lawrence B. (Bud) Lillard, 87, passed away, Sunday, July 24, 2016, surrounded by his loving family. Services will be 11:00 am Tuesday, July 26, 2016 at OakCrest Funeral Home, Rev. Reggie Blake and Rev. Harley Gordon will officiate. Burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery.
Mr. Lillard was born February 12, 1929 in Speegleville, Texas to Homer and Willie (Wilson) Lillard. He attended local schools and completed his apprenticeship in carpentry, becoming a master carpenter.
He enlisted in the U S Navy and was honorable discharged on May 5, 1948. He married the love of his life, Sadie Ruth Lasseter, on July 11, 1959 at Calvary Baptist Church. Mr. Lillard was Superintendent of Construction for Billingston Construction for 35 years. He was a Master Mason at Waco Lodge # 92, and a member of the Scottish Rite, coached little league while his sons played and was a devoted member of Beacon Hill Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents and 2 sisters, Marion and Letha.
Bud is survived by his devoted wife Ruthie; daughter, Debbie Marable and husband Paul of Valley Mills,Texas; sons, Sonny Lillard and wife Gracile of Rockdale, Texas, and Johnny Lillard and wife Mary of Rockwall, Texas; grandchildren, Jenny and Kelly Terrell, John Martin,

Blake and Amy Marable, Derek and Sabrina Lillard, Josh and Gwen Lillard, Jordon Strauss and Matthew Saliba, Alexandria Strauss and Brandon Cook, and Jackson Strauss, Lindy Lillard, Noah and Lindsey Lillard, Cameron and Julie Remaley and Erica Remaley; great grandchildren, Lauren Glenn and Lynlee Grace Terrell, Kellissa and Walker Terrell, Wills Marable, Camryn and Thomas Stratton, Amber Ulrich, Ashton Edwards, Jonathon Cox, Sterling Cox, Caden Morphis, Hudson Cox, Emery Kate, Molly, Burson, and Lucy Marable, Ryan Watson and MacKenzie Lillard, Nathaniel, Sadie, and Claire Lillard, Mason, Kade and Jake Lillard, Zoe and Emma Remaley, Kynzlie Remaley, and one great great grandchild, Shay Watson; and sister, Billie Roberts.
