Obituary for Donald C. Williams

Donald C. Williams
Donald C. Williams, 68, of Waco, passed away Friday, Aug. 26, 2016.

The youngest of nine children and a twin, Donald was born in Waco, Texas to James Delbert and Emma Mae Williams on Tuesday, July 27, 1948. He attended Waco schools and graduated from University High School in 1968. Donald served as a decorated Infantryman in the United States Army in the Vietnam War from February 1969 to September 1970, having earned an Army Commendation Medal.

As a civilian, Donald worked for General Tire & Rubber Company from 1975-1985. When General Tire pulled up stakes, Donald found his way into higher learning where he became the first child in his family to earn a college degree -- two in fact: a dual Associates degree in mental health and alcohol and drug abuse. Later in life, Donald enjoyed working as a Propane Truck Driver and Sales Representative. He spent several years working first for Mexia Butane and later for Star-Tex Propane from where he eventually retired.

Donald married Marjorie Ruth Middleton on April 23, 1971. The two resided in Waco and Axtell, Texas where they raised two sons, Micah and Daniel. During his free time, he enjoyed watching movies, camping, fishing and spending time with Marjorie's brother Gary and sister-in-law Brenda Middleton.

Donald was a genuine follower of Jesus Christ and a member of Williams Creek Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his siblings, Rhoda Jane Cast, Ruby Evelyn, James
Delbert, Jr., Alvie Joe, and John Boyd.

He is survived by his wife; his sons, Micah and wife, Amanda, Daniel and wife, Patty; Granddaughter Megan and grandsons Dylan, Nolan, and Kellan, sisters Jeannette Mae Parrish and husband Jimmy and Lois Imogen “Mackie” Lord; brother Ronald Edward and wife Terry and a number of nieces and nephews.
