Obituary for Carl J. Knight

Carl James Knight, 99, of Temple and formerly of Waco, passed away Wednesday, November 2, 2016. Services will be 9 am Saturday, November 5 at OakCrest Funeral Home with Rev. Lori Cotton officiating. Graveside service will follow at 3 pm at Grace Memorial Park in Hitchcock, Texas. Visitation will be 5 to 7 pm Friday, November 4 at OakCrest Funeral Home.

Carl was born in Williamson County to James Henry and Minnie (Jahn) Knight. He married Thelma Lee Dees on Sept. 28, 1940 in Buckholtz, and they enjoyed 71 years together. Carl was a WW II veteran and a member of Cogdell Memorial United Methodist Church. He was also a member of Texas City Masonic Lodge #1118, receiving his 50 year service pin.

Carl was preceded in death by his parents, siblings, and his beloved wife, Thelma in 2012.

He is survived by sons, Carl L. Knight and wife, Helen and Randal B. Knight; daughter, Suellen Albright and husband, John; 10 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to Cogdell Memorial United Methodist Church.
