Obituary for Nancy Guy

Nancy Harrison Guy passed from this earth and into the arms of Jesus Christ, her professed Savior on November 14, 2016. Graveside services and burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery, Waco on Thursday, November 17 at 2:00 pm. Friends may come by OakCrest Funeral Home, 4520 Bosque Boulevard, between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Wednesday to sign the Guest Book.

Nancy was born October 6, 1938 to Guy B. and Hattie Mae (Eichelberger) Harrison of Waco, Texas. Nancy attended Waco public schools and graduated from Baylor University in 1959 with an Education degree.

She taught school in Dallas, Houston and Waco for a total of 30 years and then at St Louis Catholic School in Waco for 6 years, before retiring in 2001. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Waco, sang in the choir, and was a member of the Around the Table Sunday School class.

While living in Dallas and Houston she was a member of the Dallas Opera Chorus and the Houston Grand Opera Chorus. She was happily married to Dudley B. Guy for 40 years. Nancy loved to read the Bible and study the Word of God. She was a member of Bible Study Fellowship for many years.

She is survived by two daughters, Teresa and James Sims of Grapevine and Margie Lynn and Vernon Tyger of Houston, three grandsons, Andy and Casey Kendrick of Friona TX, Matthew and Tara Kendrick of Lubbock TX, Paul Tyger of Connecticut and one granddaughter, Carol Tyger of Houston, and four great- grandchildren, Avery, Camry, Rylan and Reed Kendrick.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Baptist Church, Waco or to the Texas Collection at Baylor University.
