HAROLD A. SANDERS
89, of Waco passed away on January 12, 2017 at a local hospital surrounded by his loving family.

Funeral services will be held at 2 pm Tuesday, January 17, 2017 at OakCrest Funeral Home. Pastor Bruce Worley will be officiating. Burial will follow at the Oakwood Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 6pm to 8pm on Monday January 16, 2017 at OakCrest.

Harold was born September 18, 1927 in Memphis, Shelby County, Tennessee; to Arnold A. and LadyE (Crews) Sanders. He was married on January 10, 1948 in Paris, Texas to Susan Kathryn Lassiter.

He retired from F.W. Woolworth, Woolco, and Winns after 45 years of faithful service in retail management. Some of his many interests included; fly fishing, tending to his roses, raising racing pigeons and parakeets and he was a genealogy enthusiast. He also loved spending time with his big family and many friends.

He was a wonderful Son, Husband, Father, Grandfather, Great Grandfather and Great-great Grandfather.

He was preceded in death by his parents, infant son H.A. Sanders Jr., and wife Sue of 62 years.

He was survived by his beloved daughter Maretta Deatherage and husband Don; son Kenneth Sanders and wife Terry; and son David Sanders and fiancée Rose Morgan; as well as 10 grandkids, 20 great-grandkids and 6 great-great grandkids.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Western Heights Baptist Church or Shriners Hospital.
