Obituary for Roger Dale Seay

Roger Dale Seay
Roger Dale Seay
Feb. 8, 1942 - Feb. 11, 2017

Roger Dale Seay aka "Stick", "Rock", "Mr.Pride", 75, of Robinson, TX, entered into peaceful rest on Saturday, Feb. 11, 2017, at his sons residence in Galveston, TX. Services will be at 1 p.m., Sunday, Feb 26, at OakCrest Funeral Home in Waco with Rocky Seay officiating. Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 25, at funeral home. Roger will be laid to rest next to his beloved mother, Lillie Densman Angle. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery in Marlin.

Roger was born on February 8, 1942 in Marlin to the late Lillie Angle and the late Albert Seay. Roger went to Marlin schools then served in the US Navy from February 21, 1961 to March 30, 1963. Roger went to college for many years in multiple majors, always had a thirst for knowledge. Roger loved his family, nieces, nephews and grandkids immensely, as well as, all those he took under his wing as if they were all his own. Roger loved to fish, travel, raise Cain, and just loved life in general.

Roger was owner and operator of several Mr. Pride Car Washes in New Orleans, LA for many years and loved all his employees and spoke of them frequently. Especially Jeffrey and Calvin. Roger Seay also owned many businesses in Texas. Including bars, construction, auto dealership, manufacturing company, the Village Shopper Newspaper, Pest Control, and many more. He was a businessman to watch out for. He also assisted his son in managing Westview Lanes in Waco TX, as well as, many night clubs in Waco. Up to his last day he was known as the manager of Austin's on the Avenue.

Like any man, Roger Seay made many mistakes and may admit to most LOL, but Roger was a man that was always there for anyone in need and never looked or expected anything in return. He was a man to fear, but also a man that was always there for everyone, to protect, to console, to make you laugh, and to love. He judged no man, as well as, feared no man. His life was full of ups and downs but he never quit and always had a plan. He was a man that made life interesting for anyone that knew him. He never had a dull moment. He was not in pain and was enjoying life till the end. He always prayed for God's gift, just to go out one last time. The night before God answered his prayers as his son, Royce, took him out to raise Cain for one last time and he did...LOL. He laid his head down with a smile, with his son. He had a plan up till the end. He never wasted a minute of his life. His life was like a fiction story. You may say unbelievable, a myth, he was a legend. AMAZING!!!

Roger was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Myrtle Frasier; loving mother, Lillie Densman Angle; father, Albert Seay; and sister, Wanda Maddox.

He is survived by his children, George Newell of Roseburg OR , Roger Dale Seay II and wife Jennifer of Waco, Shane Seay, Shonda Moreland and husband Parker of Corpus Christi, Dawn Lehrman and husband Craig, Shawn Seay of Waco, Royce Seay and Corina of Galveston, Lance Ryan Manchester (SEAY) of San Antonio; sisters, Judith McGraw and husband Jim, Paula Pursche and husband Rusty, Rita Byer Eckert, Lisa Angle, Norma Jean Newsom and Judy Walls; brothers, Kieth Byer and wife Beth, Randy Angle, Buddy Marsh and wife Janet, Jerry Don Marsh and Larry Dale Marsh.
