Evelyn Mosley, 92, of Waco, was wrapped in the Loving Arms of Jesus and led safely Home to Heaven on April 19th, 2017.

Funeral services will be held Friday, April 21 at 1:30 pm at OakCrest Funeral Home with Chaplain Merry Wilburn from Providence Hospice and Rufus Chaneyworth officiating. Burial will follow at Rosemound Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday, April 20 from 6 to 8 pm at the funeral home.

Evelyn was born October 4, 1924 in Waco, Texas to Lester G. Mann and Lockie Jewel Griffin Mann. She grew up in Central Texas and attended schools in the area. In 1945, she married Jack Edward Benner and was blessed with her first child, Jack, Jr. Later, she met Norman W. Mosley, and on her birthday, Oct. 4, 1956, they were united in marriage. Norman and Evelyn were married 47 years until his passing in 2003.

Evelyn worked at Community State Bank for many years. She took some time away from work to raise her family. She resumed her career at Lake Air National Bank (now known as Bank of America), retiring in 1981.
Evelyn had a lifelong love of horses which is carried on by her daughter, Debbie, son-in-law Robby and their family.

Evelyn was a former member of Oglesby United Methodist Church. The one thing Alzheimer’s could not take from her was her love and faith in God.

She was preceded in death by her parents, C.L. (Pat) and Lockie Boyd; her brother, W.L. Mann; and her beloved husband, Norman.

Evelyn is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Jack and Linda Benner of Tyler, their daughter, Jackie Ann Jones and husband, Steve and their daughter, Abby Jones as well as their son, David Gist and wife, Gina. She also leaves behind her daughter and son-in-law, Debbie and Robby Chaneyworth of Rosenthal, their children and grandchildren, Kolten, Jeff and his daughter, Ashlyn, also Becky and Ray Queen and their children, Sammy and Maevelyn (Cowgirl); the Chaneyworth/Woodward Family; and her ‘honorary family’, Brandi, A.P., and Andy Cox.

Her family would like to extend a very heartfelt Thank You to the following:

The entire staff of Wesley Woods Care Center for their tender loving care of our precious “Nana”.
Cindy Frazier and the staff of Providence Hospice, for the indescribable blessing of support and peace they provided to our whole family.

The staff of Robinson Primary School for being with us throughout this long journey, and celebrating the good with us, and praying us through the bad, and the constant love and support through it all. We are truly “blessed by the best”.

Brandi Cox for EVERYTHING!

In lieu of flowers, it is requested memorial contributions be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, www.alz.org or to Providence Hospice, 6700 Sanger Ave., Waco, Texas 76710.
