Condolence: Dr. Argye Hillis was a precious gift in my life. We worked together at Scott & White, and she was so influential and inspiring to me. She enjoyed teaching me about the super-computer, and was so proud of her son's work on that innovation - a chart of it's design hung above her computer! We played 100 games of craps in about 3 seconds, and in that short time, I learned that gambling was just such a waste of time! So, I said, what if we asked it to play 100,000 games - always up for a challenge, Argye did it, and the result was the same ratio! It took about 3 minutes to run that one. She congratulated me when an article I co-authored appeared in a medical journal when no one else took notice. She was very special to me, and I was thinking of her, as it happens, on the day after she left us. I did not know about it yet, but as often happens, I remembered her and her smiling face and her enthusiasm for life and science, for her family and for adventures, both in learning and in the world around her. She was a great blessing to all who knew her and I am so thankful I was one who did.

Condolence: Dr. Hillis, I am saddened to hear that Argye has passed. She was such a positive woman and had that beautiful smile. Her eyes lit up whenever you were around and yours for her. What a wonderful marriage you two shared! May God's presence give you strength today and always. Sincerely, Linda
