Richard (Rick) Bryan Smith, 63, passed away on Tuesday, June 6, 2017 at Baylor Scott & White Hospital, Waco Texas.

Rick was born on November 3, 1953 in Waco to Richard and Betty Jane Beal Smith. He attended Waco schools, and graduated from Waco High School in 1972.

Rick had a successful and dedicated career managing food service for over 40 years within the State of Texas and Oklahoma, including Waco. He had recently returned home to Waco to assist in the care of his father, "Coach" Richard Smith. His mornings started having coffee with Dad on the patio. He also became proficient in the game of Dominoes.

He is survived by his father and stepmother, Richard and Nancy Smith of Waco; 2 sisters, Sharon Barak and husband James of China Spring, Monica Albers, and husband Tom of Waco; brother, Adrian Smith of Hillsboro; and numerous nieces and nephews who loved Uncle Rick dearly.

The family especially appreciates the love & care shown to Rick by the doctors & nurses of the ER department, Surgical ICU as well as Dr. John Bawduniak.
