Everett “Lee” Willis, Jr, 88, of Waco, passed away Thursday, June 15, 2017 at his home surrounded by his family. Funeral services will be 1 p.m., Saturday, June 17, at Western Heights Baptist Church. Graveside Masonic service will follow at Oakwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m., Friday, June 16, at OakCrest Funeral Home.

“Lee” was born on August 28, 1928 in West, to the late Everett Lee Willis, Sr and Beulah Crabb Willis.
He married Mary Vickery on June 5, 1948. They celebrated 69 years of marriage before his passing. They had four children together including Charles Lee Willis, who preceded him in death in 2008.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Willis; three daughters, Pam and husband Rodney House of Mart, Denise and husband Michael Homick of Dallas, and Leslie and husband Warner McBride of Robinson; daughter-In-law, Ronda Tunes Willis of Bryan; six grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother, Vance Willis of Waco.

“Lee” worked for Southwestern Bell, AT&T and Lucent Technologies for over 35 years. He retired and formed his own business, Southwest Telecom with his wife Mary, where they worked together for almost nine years.

“Lee” was an active member and deacon at Western Heights Baptist Church for the last 60 years. He was a volunteer in the Cardiac Rehab department at Providence Hospital for over 12 years until he became disabled. He was a 32nd degree Knight Commander of the Court of Honor and a Past Worshipful Master of the Fidelis Masonic Lodge #1127 in Waco. He was an endowed member of the Scottish and York Rites and a Noble of the Karem Shrine. He was also a Past Worthy Patron of the Order of the Eastern Star.

Pallbearers will be Chad Oden, Ricky Berrier, Ben Byrom, Dan Moore, Rodney House and Chuck Aleksines. Honorary pallbearers are Dr. Richard Allison, Ken Orr, and Dr Christopher Grant.
