Sharron Cox officiating. A private graveside service for extended family will be held prior to the service. Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 27 from 6:00 -8:00 PM at Oakcrest Funeral Home.
Margaret was born August 21, 1929, in Waco to Birges and Nellie (Botary) Lee and lived here most of her life. She was educated in Waco schools, graduating from La Vega High School in 1947 and later attending a local business college. She was employed with International Harvester Co. for 22 years and then Baylor University for 15 years, retiring in 1994.
After retirement, she joined Historic Waco Foundation and Earle-Napier-Kinnard House Museum. She volunteered at Strecker Museum and was a part-time hostess at Armstrong Browning Library. Her interests included opera and musical theater performances, reading, spending time with family and friends and she was an avid Dallas Cowboy fan.
Margaret was preceded in death by her daughter and best friend, Toni Sacker Fiztgerald; two brothers, George B. Lee and Harry J. Lee, and her parents.
She is survived by her grandson, Nicholas Botary; three great-grandchildren, Jared, Sarina and Brayden Botary, all of Houston, TX; sister, Mary Ann Lee and family of Sachse, TX; sister-in-law, Dorothy Lee; two nieces, Karen Lee of Arlington, TX, and Alisa Neff (Darryl) of Mulvane, KS; nephew, Brian Lee (Joanne) of Spanaway, WA., and a host of other cousins and loved ones.
Special recognition and deep appreciation go to Cindy Potts, Vicki Gaitros and Ronnie and Jenny Martin for their love and support.
The family would like to thank caregiver, Carolyn Sanders, and the amazing staff at Heartis Waco, for their outstanding care and devotion.
