Estelle Klatt Geno, 92, of Waco, Texas, died on Thursday, July 27, 2017. Funeral services will be held at 10 AM Saturday, August 5, at St. Louis Catholic Church, 2001 N. 25th St., Waco, Texas, with Father Red Blevins officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Oakwood Cemetery.

Estelle was born in Riesel, Texas on November 4, 1924 to the late Henry and Lydia Klatt. She married William Eugene Geno on May 30, 1942. She graduated from Waco High school on January 24, 1941 and earned Bachelor's and Master's degrees from Baylor University.

She was a teacher and counselor at several WISD schools, Region XII ESC, and worked at Louis Catholic School and Reicher Catholic High School. She was a long-time member of St. Louis Catholic Church, and was a devoted Catholic, and had a very giving nature with everyone. Many children in the Waco area benefited from her hard work.

Throughout the years she also worked in various jobs at James Connally Air Force Base, William Cameron Company, National Gypsum Company and General Tire and Rubber Company, where she was the editor of the plant newspaper. She also conducted public relations workshops for the Austin Diocesan Council of Catholic women in several cities. Volunteer work included Providence Hospital Auxiliary, St. Louis Women's Guild, Inner City Ministry, Governor's Committee of Aging, Meals on Wheels and PTA.

Estelle had a strong love for God, and always enjoyed looking at His beautiful handiwork in nature and animals.

She was preceded in death by parents, Henry and Lydia Klatt; husband, William Geno; and two brothers, Rudolph Klatt and James Klatt.

She is survived by four children, Kirk Geno and wife, Dr. Sharon Beshouri, Kim Geno, Kris Kaliher and husband Tony Kaliher, and Katherine Geno; five grandchildren, Hans Kaliher and wife, Lisa Kaliher, Joseph Kaliher and wife, Jordan Kaliher, Nicholas Kaliher, Madeleine Geno and Eleanor Geno; and two great-grandchildren, Gabriel Kaliher and Isaac Kaliher.

Memorials may be made to the Bill Geno Respiratory Therapy Scholarship Fund at McLennan Community College, the Mark Deering Scholarship Trust or the Baylor University School of Journalism.
