Wanda Ruth Beatty Shilling, 90, of Waco passed away Friday, October 13, 2017. Graveside services will be Monday, October 16 at 10 am at Waco Memorial Park. Visitation will be Sunday, October 15 from 5 to 7 pm at OakCrest Funeral Home.

Wanda was born October 2, 1927 in Amarillo, Texas to James R. and Lois Beatty. She graduated from Waco High School and later from 4 C Business College. On October 9, 1948, she married Jack Keith Shilling in Waco and they began their life together, raising a family. Wanda retired from Hartford Insurance, where she worked as a claims adjuster. She was a long time member of Lake Shore Drive Church of Christ and Past President of the American Business Women’s Association. Wanda enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, playing a game of cards, sewing or crafting. She will be deeply missed.

Wanda is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jack Keith Shilling; son, Stanley Keith Shilling; and brother, Charles Robert Beatty.

She is survived by her daughters, Kelly Parnell and husband, Mike and Kimberly West and husband, Robert; granddaughters, Casey Shilling and Ashley West; great grandson, Austin Shilling-Shermer; and her cat, Finley.

The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the resident friends and staff of Stoney Brook of Hewitt for enriching Wanda's life.
