I was was saddened today to hear the news of Coach Coffee’s passing. Had I known when it happened I would have been there to pay my respects. I grew up in Carrollton Tx with Paul Carmon. I played baseball for and against Coach Coffee from age 10 to 15. I considered Coach Coffee to be one of the greatest baseball minds I ever knew. He pushed me and believed in me and he consistently won games based on his offense mindset. Coach continued to believe in me and supported me through high school and into college. His son Paul Carmon is the greatest catcher I ever played with and has proven to be the coach we all knew he would be. That is a direct reflection of what Coach Coffee taught him. I am a better man having known Coach Coffee. My condolences to his family. Rest In Peace Coach.
