Obituary for Marshall Shoesmith
Marshall Weldon Shoesmith gained his heavenly wings on Thursday, January 25, 2018. He was 17 years old and a Senior at McGregor High School. Services will be held on Wednesday, January 31, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at First United Methodist Church Waco. Burial will follow at Canaan Baptist Church Cemetery in Crawford. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 30, 2018 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at OakCrest Funeral Home, 4520 Bosque Blvd.
Marshall lived a life full of compassion and love for his family and friends. He was always quick to share a smile, lend a hand or give a "Marshall hug." He will be remembered most by the investments he made in the lives of others, both young and old, with a caring and gentle spirit.
Marshall is survived by his mother, Robin Shoesmith; sisters and best friends, Railey Shoesmith and Rylie Brenegar, and brother, Cade Brenegar; father, Matt Shoesmith and stepmother, Jamie Jensen, and stepbrothers and sister, Chad Bost, Justin Kruger, and Brittany Bost; niece, Ari Bost and nephews, Mason Bost and Jayden Bost; grandparents, Gloria Krueger, Mildred Shoesmith and Fred and Mary Helen Overton; lifelong best friend, Hunter Shaw; bonus grandmother, Susie Johnson; aunts and uncles, Tracy and Mark Shoesmith, Mike and Ruby Shoesmith, Vicki Evans, Brenda Hulvey, Alan and Dinah Shaw, Joey and Desiree Casey and Cody and Kayla Johnson; cousins Taylor Whitaker, Eric Shoesmith, Bryan Shoesmith, and Michelle Jones and girlfriend, Rachael Longoria.
Marshall is preceded in death by his step-father, Mike Brenegar and grandfathers, George H. Roach III, Merle Shoesmith and Ray Krueger.
Marshall's pallbearers are Greg Williams, Brady Strain, Harrison Hayes, Monty Fulp, III, Mitchell O'Neal, Carson Freeman, Hunter Shaw, and Justin Kruger. Honorary pallbearers are Bryan Shoesmith, Eric Shoesmith, Chad Bost, Andy Smith and Jarred Smith.
The family desires that any donations be made to the Marshall Shoesmith Scholarship Fund and sent to TFNB Your Bank for Life, 27000 W. Hwy 84, McGregor.
