Obituary for Jessica Ann Ann Nowak (Chard-Murphy)

Jessica Ann Nowak
August 6, 1950-July 1, 2018

Jessica Ann Nowak, 67, of Waco, went to be with Our Lord in Heaven at 6:30 p.m. Sunday, July 1, 2018.

Funeral services will be at 2 pm Thursday, July 5 at OakCrest Funeral Home. Visitation will be 1 hour prior to the service. Burial will be in Rosemound Cemetery.

Jessica Ann was born on August 6, 1950 to Robert and Kathryn Chard in the old Hillcrest Hospital. She grew up in Waco, except the short time her father was stationed in Germany with the Air Force when she was 3.

She married Charlie Nowak on January 5, 1980 because of hatching eggs from a chicken show here in Waco where they started their own family.

She loved animals so much that she built and operated Honey Bees Pet Shop for 5 years, with all types of animals from fish to birds, puppies and kittens, reptiles and supplies for all. She loved to go hunting and fishing. She was a charter member of the Doll Club.

She was a graduate nurse RN skilled in homecare. She worked at J. C. Penney's in Jewelry Dept for almost 5 years. She worked the concession stands at the Little League fields for 3 years while raising a daughter, granddaughter and keeping the family together. She was a truly amazing woman.

She was the center of the family, the rudder to keep us on track. She was the main problem solver, a loving wife, mother, grandmother. She was a strong-willed, smart, hard working, beautiful woman with a heart of Gold. Trustworthy, considerate, kind and gentle, she knew how to get things done. She was loved by everyone. A friend to all. Our lives are so much richer since she was in them for as short a time as she had.

She had so many maladies, ailments and sicknesses but pushed on through it all. She became disabled in the latter part of the 90's when illnesses started piling up on her. She fought a hereditary lung problem as long as she could, and passed from this life at St. Catherine's at 6:30 pm on July 1.

She is leaving behind an excellent legacy. She is so loved and will be missed tremendously. The pain will lessen, but the memory will remain. She will soon get her wings and watch over us from Heaven. Thank you Jessica, we love you.
