Esther Bredeck Quinn
April 18, 1939 - August 29, 2011

Esther Bredeck Quinn, 72, of Waco, passed away at home on Monday, August 29, 2011. Graveside service will be 10 a.m. Saturday, September 3, at Rosemound Cemetery with Msgr. Mark Deering officiating. Please dress comfortably. Visitation will be 6 - 7 p.m. Friday at OakCrest Funeral Home with Deacon Gregg George leading a Rosary service at 7 p.m.

She was born in Avon, Minn., on April 18, 1939, and grew up in nearby Albany. She married K Edward Quinn on November 8, 1958, in Albany and moved to his hometown of Waco in 1959. She was one of the founding parishioners of St. Louis Catholic Church in Waco, and her four children received a Catholic education at St. Louis Elementary and Reicher Catholic High School.

Esther retired in 2006 from the Retired Senior Volunteer Program, where she made many wonderful friends. Her family was always most important in her heart, but she also enjoyed baking, fishing, watching football with Dad and keeping a beautiful yard and garden. She was also a member of the quilters club at St. Louis Catholic Church.

Esther was preceded in death by husband, K Edward; her father and mother, Andrew and Alvina Bohmer Bredeck; brother, Dick Bredeck and sister, Lavonne Bredeck Houston.

She is survived by sons, Mark and wife, Billie of Mississippi, Mike and wife, Chiemi of Ishigaki, Japan, and Dan of Austin; daughter, Deanna and husband, Ken Marek of Lorena; six grandchildren, Nicholas, Michelle, Karina and Melina Quinn, Michael Bayer, and Keaton Marek; and four great-grandchildren, Paxton, Colton, Treyton and Austin Quinn. Esther is also survived by brothers, Gene, Leon and Lloyd Bredeck and sisters Janet Czech and Rita Doree.

The family would like to thank the Heart of Texas Area Agency on Aging and the nurses and staff at Providence Hospice and Visiting Angels for the wonderful care they provided.
