Obituary for Ovella Troutt Underwood

Ovella Troutt Underwood, 79, of Waco, died Saturday night, September 27, 2003, in a local nursing home.

Graveside services will be at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, September 30, at the DeLeon Cemetery in DeLeon, Texas, with Rev. Derek Dodson officiating.

Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m., Monday, in the OakCrest Funeral Home chapel, 4520 Bosque. A memorial video of her life will be shown continuously during visitation.

Mrs. Underwood was born August 15, 1924, in Evant, Texas, to the late Carroll and Estelle (Davis) Troutt. On June 4, 1941, she married Martin Wagner, who preceded her in death July 25, 1965. She later married on August 11, 1966 to R.V. Underwood of DeLeon, who preceded her in death Feb. 7, 1980. She was a retired nursing aide, and was a member of the Speegleville Baptist Church.

Survivors include two brothers, S/Maj. Ret. Carroll Troutt and wife Colleen of San Antonio, and Curtis Troutt and wife Ruth of Waco; and several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Speegleville Baptist Church, 469 Speegle Road, Waco, TX 76712.
