Obituary for Hattie A. Brumfield


Hattie A. Brumfield passed away September 4, 2017 at the age of 88.

Graveside services will be held at Rosemound Cemetery on Thursday, September 7 at 11:00 a.m. with visitation starting at 10:15 a.m.. Eddie Castro will be officiating.

Hattie was born to Edward S. and Hattie Thomas King, December 9, 1928, Thorndale, TX.. She attended grade school in Conoley and graduated from Thorndale High in 1945. After graduation, she moved to Waco and resided there since.

Hattie was a licensed beautician and worked many years in cosmetology sales. She retired from McLennan County MHMR. She had a tender, loving and compassionate heart for children. After retirement, Hattie actively pursued her hobby of sales and went into the boutique business. She was a fan of country and bluegrass music and traveled with her husband, Tom, to many festivals and other venues where she set up shop and enjoyed meeting new friends and visiting with old ones. She enjoyed traveling and toured many states, Europe, Canada and Mexico.

Hattie was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters, Estelle Kunkel, Faye Welch, Audrey Regian; and two sons, Ronald Regian and Tommy Regian.

She is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 46 years, Tom Brumfield; stepson, Larry Brumfield; stepdaughter, Carol Moczygemba and husband, James; one niece and three nephews who adored and lovingly called her, Aunt Doodle. She also leaves several great-nephews and nieces.

As they say in Texas, Hattie was a good ol’ gal.
