Obituary for Robbie Lee Riggs (Burton)

Robbie Lee  Riggs (Burton)
Robbie Lee Riggs, 98, of Waco passed away to her heavenly home Saturday, June 30, 2018. There will be a celebration of her life on Tuesday, July 3 at 11 am at OakCrest Funeral Home, private graveside will follow at a later time. Visitation will be Tuesday, starting at 10 am, one hour prior to the service.

Robbie was born in Crawford, Texas on April 28, 1920 to Robert Lee Burton and Clara Miller Burton. She attended Crawford schools and graduated from Crawford High School in 1937. After graduation she attended the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor for one year. Robbie worked in retail for many years, lastly being Cox’s until it closed in 1995. She loved her family, sewing, being outdoors, playing bridge and her cats.

She is preceded in death by her parents; brother, Richard Burton; sisters, Irene Conner and husband, Charles, Loreen Collard and husband, FG; her husband, Matt Bunk Gill as well as husband, Archie Lee Riggs; son, Jerry Gill; daughter-in-law, Marcia Riggs; and granddaughter, Robin Christine.

Robbie leaves behind a loving family that include her daughter, Claudette Hinsley and husband, David; son, Randall Riggs and special friend, Judy Woodland; grandchildren, Michael Glenn Gill and wife, Jessica, Jerrylynn Gill, Jessica Reed and husband, Justin, Amanda Niell and husband, Justin, Joe Hinsley and wife, Billie and Erica Hernandez and husband, Isaac; great-grandchildren, Tyler and Paityn Machac, Isaac, Lillyanna and Jaylynn Hernandez, Christian Gill, Ryan Gill and Jocelyn, A.J. and Megan; as well as many nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank the staff, nurses and aides at Senior Care of Hewitt for all the care provided, especially Brenda, Visiting Angels aide, Tanya and Bluebonnet Hospice.
