Obituary for Mrythala "Lolo" Calderon

Mrythala Calderon, 63 of Waco, Texas formerly of Leipsic, Ohio died at 2:15 p.m. Saturday, November 10, 2018 at Baylor Scott & White Medical Center-Hillcrest Waco. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, November 14 at 12 pm at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with burial to follow at Oakwood Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday, November 13 from 6 to 8 pm with the Rosary to be recited at 7 pm at OakCrest Funeral Home.

Mrythala was born December 17, 1954 in Mercedes, Texas to Pedro G. Chavez and Josefina Castillo Chavez. On June 20, 1988 she married Emiliano Calderon Jaimes.

She was a 1973 graduate of Leipsic High School in Ohio and earned an Associate Degree of Applied Business Office Administration from Northwest Business College: Technical Center. She was employed with the US Internal Revenue Services of Lima, Ohio and retired early after 20-plus years of service. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Leipsic, Ohio where she served as a past president of the Guadalupe Society.

Mrythala was lovingly known as Lolo to all who loved her. Lolo was well respected and looked up to by many, especially all the children she cared for in her lifetime. She was one of the most giving, unconditionally loving people person anyone could ever meet. Lolo never knew a stranger and greeted everyone with her beautiful smile. She was quite the conversationalist, there was never a moment of awkward silence when she was around. She enjoyed playing Scrabble and putting puzzles together. Her all-time favorite author was Stephen King and she devoured and speed read anything he wrote. She was an awesome cook and treasured making memories with family and friends. Everyone that knew Lolo knew that her absolute favorite color was royal blue and if you didn't her 80s royal blue eyeshadow and liner let you know it, It sparkled as bright as her personality. Lolo was an important person to all of us, she will be missed and held dear in the hearts of all she knew.

Mrythala was preceded in death by her father, Pedro; a beloved son, Bernardo Rincon; a nephew, Leroy Chavez; and a great-granddaughter, Maya Marie Schroeder.

Survivors include her husband, Emiliano of Waco, Texas; mother, Josefina of Leipsic, Ohio; two children, Belyna (Rolando) Rodriguez of Hewitt, Texas and Emilio (Sulema) Calderon of Waco, Texas; nine grandchildren, and 2 great-grandchildren; three siblings, Rosaura (Esmael) Hernandez of Leipsic, Ohio, Pedro Chavez Jr of Alto, Georgia and Perla Chavez of Pandora, Ohio.
