Obituary

Amanda was born November 14, 1991 in Waco Texas to Serena Kay Overman and Nolan Saulter Jr. She grew up in Virginia and moved to Texas in 2014. There was nothing that Amanda didn’t at least try once. She loved music, art, fishing, horse back riding, dancing, her dog, Harley and most of all, her one true love, her daughter, Zoeyy.

There was nothing that Amanda couldn’t accomplish when she set her mind to it. She grew up in the foster care system and never once used it as a crutch. Amanda obtained employment with the McLennan County Sheriff's Office as a booking technician and moved her way up to becoming a Deputy with the department.

Amanda was blessed with her father figure Tom Holland who was always there for her throughout her life. Amanda received a second blessing when she met “Momma Kim” Shane at the jail, which lead to an unbreakable mother daughter relationship.

Amanda has touched many lives in different ways and will truly be missed by all.

Amanda was preceded in death by her mother, Serena Overman.

She is survived by her father figure, Tom Holland of Portsmouth, Virginia; mother figure, Kim Shane of Waco, Texas; grandparents, Nolan Saulter Sr. of Riesel, Texas, Mary Patton and husband, John of Virginia; Shelby Mema Holland of Virginia; aunt, Leigh Ann Holloway and husband, Michael of Riesel, Texas; uncles, Ray Saulter and wife, Melissa of Axtell, Texas, Charles Saulter of Riesel, Texas, and Wesley Saulter and wife, Karen of Oklahoma; numerous cousins, extended family and the entire McLennan County Sheriff’s Department.

A visitation with the family will be held on Thursday, February 14th from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at the New Hope Baptist Church located at 5783 West Lake Creek Road in Riesel, Texas. A memorial service will be held on Friday, February 15th at 3:00 pm at New Hope.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the McLennan County CPS Rainbow Room at 801 Austin Ave in Waco, Texas to support children in foster care or to New Hope Baptist Church.

To the McLennan County Sheriffs Department,
Thank you to all of you for the out pouring of concern and respect that you have given to our family. From the bottom of my heart thank you!
Leigh Ann Holloway

My heart was caught when I read of your loss and I wanted to send my warmest condolences to the ones who gave Amanda love and sense of family. To lose a young one, who overcame so much, can bring such pain but Jesus gives us loving assurance at John 5:28,29 that you will have her in your life once again. Until God’s promises come true may every good thought, every memory of the love you felt, flood and overtake you with calm and peace to help you through the dark moments. I am very sorry about the loss of your loved one. Nothing is more heartbreaking or stressful than to lose someone you love in death. Take comfort in knowing that Jehovah God promises that He will resurrect our dead loved ones into a beautiful paradise earth where there will be no suffering or pain or death. Revelation 21:3,4, John 5:28,29, Psalm 37:29. I hope that these beautiful scriptures will bring you comfort. jw.org

I remember the way you’d dance and how you always wore a smile. I would see you taking the night by storm and making the best out of it. I was always jealous of how beautifully you danced and how you would just be yourself as if no one was watching you. I wish we could’ve hung out and gotten to know each other better, I wish I could’ve helped you through the difficult times you were burdened with, but the one thing I would want more than anything is to see you smile once more and to watch you dance like you are on top of the world. You are such a beautiful person and I can’t help but feel somewhat guilty that I never reached out to you and send a friendly hello. I don’t know anything you went through or the battles you were fighting, but I wish I could’ve help you fight those battles. When I found out what happened I was so confused and lost I didn’t want to believe it, what had hit me the hardest was that I was wearing the pants you gave me the moment I found out. I will always admire you like I did when you were dancing the night away. My heart goes out to your family. Rest in Paradise beautiful angel.

Missing your beautiful smile so much. You had such a charismatic & ambitious soul - I looked up to you so much, so young and accomplished with goals set for your future. We'll see you on the other side. Rest in Peace beautiful girl. Your Grandpa loves and misses you dearly, wish we had one more chance to visit. :(

No words can express the pain and sorrow felt by your dad, Nolan Saulter, Jr when he got the call about your passing. May the Lord embrace you with loving arms, and may you dance forever with your sister, Cheyenne, and your grandmother, Frieda Ruth. Fly on angel.
