Obituary for Amanda Marie Saulter

Amanda was born November 14, 1991 in Waco Texas to Serena Kay Overman and Nolan Saulter Jr. She grew up in Virginia and moved to Texas in 2014. There was nothing that Amanda didn’t at least try once. She loved music, art, fishing, horse back riding, dancing, her dog, Harley and most of all, her one true love, her daughter, Zoeyy.

There was nothing that Amanda couldn’t accomplish when she set her mind to it. She grew up in the foster care system and never once used it as a crutch. Amanda obtained employment with the McLennan County Sheriff's Office as a booking technician and moved her way up to becoming a Deputy with the department.

Amanda was blessed with her father figure Tom Holland who was always there for her throughout her life. Amanda received a second blessing when she met “Momma Kim” Shane at the jail, which lead to an unbreakable mother daughter relationship.

Amanda has touched many lives in different ways and will truly be missed by all.

Amanda was preceded in death by her mother, Serena Overman.

She is survived by her father figure, Tom Holland of Portsmouth, Virginia; mother figure, Kim Shane of Waco, Texas; grandparents, Nolan Saulter Sr. of Riesel, Texas, Mary Patton and husband, John of Virginia; Shelby Mema Holland of Virginia; aunt, Leigh Ann Holloway and husband, Michael of Riesel, Texas; uncles, Ray Saulter and wife, Melissa of Axtell, Texas, Charles Saulter of Riesel, Texas, and Wesley Saulter and wife, Karen of Oklahoma; numerous cousins, extended family and the entire McLennan County Sheriff’s Department.

A visitation with the family will be held on Thursday, February 14th from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at the New Hope Baptist Church located at 5783 West Lake Creek Road in Riesel, Texas. A memorial service will be held on Friday, February 15th at 3:00 pm at New Hope.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the McLennan County CPS Rainbow Room at 801 Austin Ave in Waco, Texas to support children in foster care or to New Hope Baptist Church.

To the McLennan County Sheriffs Department,
Thank you to all of you for the out pouring of concern and respect that you have given to our family. From the bottom of my heart thank you!
Leigh Ann Holloway
