Ada Frances Wilson Smajstrla, 95, of Waco, passed away Monday, June 15, 2015. Mass will be 10 a.m. Monday, June 22, at St. Mary’s Church of the Assumption in Waco. Committal will be 1:30 p.m. Monday at St. Mary’s Cemetery in West.

Visitation will be 6-7 p.m. Sunday, June 21, at OakCrest Funeral Home, 4520 Bosque Boulevard, followed by a rosary at 7 p.m.

Ada was born to Walter Scott and Ada Lou Young Wilson on August 26, 1919 in Lorena. She was married to Eugene Edwin Smajstrla on December 24, 1936 in Waco, TX.

She was a member of the Tejanas Study Club of Waco and spent many hours volunteering at the Veterans Hospital and Caritas and with work at St. Mary’s Church. Her hobbies included cooking for friends and family, sewing and playing bridge. She and her husband belonged to several dance clubs. Frances had a sweet nature and a loving heart.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and son, Wayland Smajstrla.

She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Walter, Harvey Lee, Carl, Woodrow and Winfield Scott Wilson, and sisters, Jewel Wilson Alsup, Onita Wilson Schaudies, and Willa Mae Wilson Pressley.

She is survived by sons, Rodney Smajstrla (Sharon) of Fredricksburg, Michael Smajstrla (Janet) of Kerrville, Paul Smajstrla (Anne) of Waco; daughter-in-law, Del Smajstrla of Fort Worth; grandchildren, Beth Smajstrla, Camilla Smajstrla Payne (George), Todd Smajstrla (Kimberly), Sean Smajstrla (Tula), Erin Smajstrla Munton (Nathan), Calvin Smajstrla, Stephen Smajstrla, Jeffrey Smajstrla and Laura Smajstrla; great-grandchildren, Mason Smajstrla, Lovell Smajstrla, Corbin Smajstrla, Emelia Smajstrla, Nathan Munton and Wil Munton; numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Todd Smajstrla, Sean Smajstrla, Stephen Smajstrla, Jeffrey Smajstrla, Calvin Smajstrla, and Frank M. Maddox.

Memorials may be made to Rosenthal Cemetery Association, 305 W. Billington Avenue, Waco, TX 76706.
