Adriel Aaron Gonzalez, affectionately known as Drel, passed away on December 19,
2024, surrounded by his loving family, at Ascension Providence Hospital.
Adriel was born on July 8, 1989, in Waco to Anibal Gonzalez Sr. and Mary Jane
Gonzalez. He attended Texas Christian Academy, graduating with the class of 2008. He played
football, basketball, and baseball while in high school. He especially enjoyed spending
time with family and friends. He was an avid fan of the Dallas Cowboys and the North
Carolina Tar Heels.
He was a member of Nueva Iglesia Bautista (New Baptist Church) where he attended
services.
Adriel shared a close bond with his siblings Joe Rodriquez, Angela Olvera, Hope
Rodriquez, and Anibal Andres Gonzalez Jr, as well as with his extended family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother Porfiria Contreras, his paternal
grandfather Mateo Gonzalez and his older sister Hope.
He is survived by his parents; Anibal and Mary Jane Gonzalez; sister, Angela and
husband, Federico Olvera; brothers, Joe and wife, Amanda, Andrew and wife,
Katie Gonzalez; paternal grandmother, Aura Gonzalez. He is also survived by his
many nieces, nephews, cousins, and other extended family and friends. He will be
deeply missed by all who knew him.
Visitation will be Monday, December 23, 2024 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at OakCrest
Funeral Home, 4520 Bosque Blvd. Funeral services will be held at OakCrest Funeral
Home on Tuesday, December 24, 2024 at 9:00 a.m. with burial to follow at Oakwood
Cemetery.
