Dr. Albert Frank Mikulencak, Jr., 65, of Woodway, died Thursday, March 23, 2006 at his residence.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1 pm Wednesday at St. Louis Catholic Church in Waco with Msgr. Mark Deering as the celebrant.
BIOGRAPHY
Dr. Albert F. Mikulencak, Jr. was born in Taylor, TX. and was the son of Albert Frank Mikulencak Sr. and Ann Hajda Mikulencak.
He attended Elgin High School, St. Edward's University in Austin, Tx. and received his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree and a Post-Graduate Periodontics Degree from The University of Texas Dental Branch in Houston,
TX.
He married Vera Mangiacotti in Houston, TX in 1964. Dr. Mikulencak was on the faculty of the University of Texas Dental Branch at Houston before moving to Waco, Texas to begin his dental practice in Periodontics.
He was an active member of the Central Texas Dental Society where he served in all leadership positions.
Dr. Mikulencak served as the President of the Texas Dental Association from 1985-1986 and for many years was a delegate to the American Dental Association and served on various committees supporting the dental profession.
He was an active member of the American Academy of Periodontology, and the Southwest Society of Periodontists.
He also served as a periodontal consultant to the Dental Services of the Veteran's Hospitals in Waco and Temple,Texas and was on the advisory board of the Texas State Technical School of Dental Assisting.
Al, as he was known by his many friends was always involved in dentistry and he was well known by Dentists across the entire country.
Dr. Mikulencak's primary periodontal practice was in Waco, Texas. He also had secondary offices in Temple, Texas and Killeen, Texas before his retirement in 1999.
Dr. Mikulencak was a member of the K.J.T. and was a member of the Equestrian Order of the Knights of the Holy Sepulchre of Jerusalem. He attended St. Louis Catholic Church in Waco, Texas.
Dr. Mikulencak was preceded in death by his father, Albert F. Mikulencak, Sr. and his sister, Barbara Mikulencak Garrett.

He is survived by his wife, Vera of Waco,Texas; mother, Ann Mikulencak, of Elgin, TX; daughter April Sewell, her husband Gary and step-grandson RG all of Grand Prairie, TX; Lisa Mikulencak, her husband Steve Danis and grandsons Matteo, Lorenzo, and Dominic of Seattle, Washington; son, Albert F. Mikulencak III of Santa Monica, California; daughter Laura Helpert, her husband Chris and grandchildren; Sofia, Gus, and Mia of Georgetown, TX; son, Duane Mikulencak, his wife Carolyn and grandsons Jude, Henry, and Ivan of the Netherlands; and son Paul Mikulencak, his wife Danielle and grandchildren Elliot and Lucy of Seattle, Washington.
He is also survived by two sisters, Dorothy Montz and her husband Mike of Friendswood, Tx. and Alice Pawelek and husband Jerry of Horseshoe Bay, TX.and his brother-in-law, John Garrett of Deer Park, TX.
