Alfa Breedlove

Alfa Mae (Alfie) Breedlove went to be with her Lord and Saviour on Thursday, November 25th, 2021. She was 78. Visitation and viewing is scheduled for Monday, November 29 from 5 to 7pm at OakCrest Funeral Home. A graveside service will be Tuesday, November 30 at 11 am at Waco Memorial Park.

Alfa was born in Long Beach, California. She graduated from MCC with an Associates degree in nursing. She later graduated from Southwest Texas State with a Baccalaureate degree. She married Melvin L. Breedlove on November 10, 1962. Alfa worked in surgery as a Registered Nurse at Hillcrest Baptist Medical Center for 38 years until her retirement in 2005.

Alfa was a member of Parkview Baptist Church. She was a devoted wife, mom, and grandma, who loved her family fiercely.

Alfa was preceded in death by her parents, Helen Maddox and Alfred Limon; sisters, Marie Williams and Kathy Maxey.

Alfa is survived by her husband of 59 years, Melvin; daughter, Kim Holton and husband, Gary; son, Melvin Larry Breedlove, Jr. (Bubba) and wife, Dee; sisters, Adelene Ceschin and Violet Pledger; brother, Johnny Maddox; grandchildren, Cody Ryberg and wife, April, Allison Alderman and husband, Nick, Bryce Breedlove and Cade Breedlove; great grandchildren, Bryleigh, and Beau (and baby girl Logan on the way); as well as many nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank Reliable Home Health and Amedisys Hospice for their love and great care.

Pallbearers are Melvin (Bubba) Breedlove, Gary Holton, Cody Ryberg, Bryce Breedlove, Cade Breedlove, and Nick Alderman with Travis Altschul as honorary pallbearer.
