Alfred Frank (Pat) Gerick
April 17, 1921 - December 26,2007

Alfred Frank (Pat) Gerick, 86, of Riesel, Texas passed away December 26, 2007, at a local hospital surrounded by his family. Services will be at 2 p.m., Wednesday, January 2, 2008, at Oakcrest Funeral Home with Monsignor Mark Deering officiating. Burial with military honors will follow at Oakwood Cemetery. The family will receive visitors at OakCrest Funeral Home from 1 - 2 p.m., prior to the service.

Pat, (Alfred Frank) was born April 17, 1921 to Joseph Libor Gerick and Francis Kubish Gerick in Buckholts, Texas.

After graduating from Ad Hall High School, Pat joined the Navy and served during World War II.

Returning from the war, Pat married Florence Grace Applin, of Cameron, Texas. They moved to Waco and started a family. Pat worked for Turnipseede Refrigeration for several years before opening his own company "Pat Gerick Refrigeration."

He was an active lifetime member (50 years) of the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars.

Pat loved music, especially Czech. Until a few years ago, he could be found dancing the nights away. He loved building things, working in his vegetable garden and raising his cattle. He was a colorful character. Family members and friends can tell many humorous stories about how he loved and lived life.

Pat was preceded in death by his parents and the mother of his children, Florence Grace Gerick.

He is survived by his children, Billy Ray (Bill) Gerick and wife, Becky of Waco, Texas, Jerry Frank Gerick and wife, Ann of Waco, Texas, Patricia Kay Adamson of Palestine, Texas, and Robert Lee G,erick and wife Frances of Riesel, Texas; grandchildren: Mark Gerick, Chris Gerick, Casey Dawson, Shelly Parsons, Nathan Gerick, Nadaya Gerick, Lisa Johnson, and Heather Burrell; 11 great-?grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
