Alice Morgan Brewer, 83, of Waco, passed away peacefully on September 22, 2021 at her residence. The memorial service will be Saturday, November 13 at 2 pm. at the Oakcrest Funeral Home of Waco.
Alice was born December 13, 1937 in Jefferson, MO to J. Fred Morgan and Bertha Lowrance Morgan. She graduated from Waco High School in 1956 where she played the clarinet and was a majorette for the marching band. She was a loving mother and homemaker and was known for her southern cooking and baking.
After her children were grown, Alice worked at Cogdell’s Department Store and later became a sought- after seamstress in the Waco community. Her and her husband Bill enjoyed traveling, the outdoors and flying in Bill’s airplane after they retired.
Alice loved entertaining her grandchildren and hosting various celebrations at her and Bill’s home in Bosque County. She could beat just about anyone at forty-two dominoes and continued to play frequently with friends up until her passing.
She was preceded in death by her husband William P Brewer, son Jack V. Brewer, sisters Martha Cecil and Evelyn Smith.
Survivors include son, William A. Brewer of China Spring, daughters Rita Yau of Plano and Carol Smith of Woodway, sister Freda Chauvin of Newport News, VA, five grandchildren, and two great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Fuzzy Friends Rescue of Waco or the Arthritis Foundation.
