Alice Yvonne Goolsbee, 86 went to be with the Lord Friday, June 15, 2007 in Waco. Services will be 10 am Monday at OakCrest Funeral Home, 4520 Bosque Blvd. with the Rev. Kay Hawkins officiating. Burial will follow at Waco Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 pm on Sunday.
Yvonne was born in McLennan County on June 12, 1921 to Mattie B. (Judd) and Edgar Fulp. She graduated from McGregor High School. She worked along side her husband in his moving and rigging business and was a member of Gogdell United Methodist Church. Furthermore, Mrs. Goolsbee was active in community affairs. She served several offices in the American Business Women's Association, Forum Studies Group, and at Herring Avenue United Methodist Church.
She was married to William Harold Goolsbee on November 22, 1946. They were married 45 years until his death in 1991. Yvonne is also preceded in death by her parents; two sisters Kathyrn Winkelmann, Louise Patton; brother Carlton Fulp and step-son Harold Goolsbee Jr.
She is survived by her daughter Marilyn and son-in-law Jimmy Barnes of Waco; stepson Arthur and wife Linda Goolsbee of Abilene; her special granddaughter Alison Barnes four other grandchildren, Austan, Darrell, and David Goolsbee; Kathy Carrington and nine great-grandchildren. Yvonne was a wonderful mother and devoted grandmother and will be missed by her family and many generations of friends.
The family suggests donations to be sent to St. Catherine's Activities Program of Godgell United Methodist Church.
