Alma Virginia Hughes, 84, passed away Sunday, January 25, 2009.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the OakCrest Funeral Home Chapel with Father Irudayaraj Nelapatti-Thomas officiating. Burial will follow at Waco Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, January 28 at OakCrest Funeral Home, 4520 Bosque Blvd.
Mrs. Hughes was born April 9, 1924 in Grimes County, Texas. She was an active member at St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption.
Mrs. Hughes was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ed Lee Hughes on June 14, 2005; sister, Teresa Wilcox; and a great aunt, Victoria Wilson.
She is survived by her daughters, Kathryn Bowersox of Waco, Nancy H. Garrett and husband, Paul of Austin and Debbie Wilk of Lorena; three grandchildren, Richie Roper, Jake Roper and Annelise Wilk all of Lorena.
Pallbearers will be Paul Garrett, Leslie Puryear, Richie Roper and Jake Roper.
The family wishes to express their appreciation to the medical staff in the ICU at Providence Health Center.
