Alvin "Binky" Makovy, Jr., 59, of Waco, passed away, Sunday, July 27, 2008 at his residence. Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 30 at the OakCrest Funeral Home Chapel.
Burial will follow at Rosemound Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday at OakCrest Funeral Home.
Mr. Makovy was born February 16, 1949 in Waco to Alvin Makovy, Sr. and Merle McCune Makovy. He moved to Bryan/College Station in 1974. He resided in Waco the last 6 months of his earthly life.
He was employed with the United States Postal Service for 33 years and was a member of the American Postal Workers Union. Mr. Makovy was a member of Columbus Avenue Church of Christ.
He was preceded in death by his brother, David Makovy.
Mr. Makovy is survived by his parents, Merle and Alvin Makovy, Sr. of Waco; daughter, Allison and her husband, Scott Targac of Houston; sons, Doug Makovy of Round Rock and Brandon Makovy of Katy; granddaughters, Hailee Renea Makovy of Houston and Hannah Reese Targac of Houston; grandson, Hayden Ray Targac of Houston; several aunts, uncles and many cousins.
Pallbearers will be Mike McDonald, Scott Targac, Terry Thrasher, Lonnie Green, Steve Beatty and Steve Adams.
