Anita “Kay” Paul-Blankenship, 73, of Hewitt, passed away on Friday, March 28, 2014. Services will be held Monday, March 31, 2014 at 3:30 p.m. at the Waco Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel, with Pastor.Roy W. Marshall officiating.
Anita “Kay” Paul- Blankenship was born on March 11, 1941 to Wilbur and Alma Till Lewis. “Kay,” and her first husband, M/SGT Cletus Paul, were married 21 years and had three children. He preceded her in death. “Kay” married Clyde Blankenship on January 23, 2008. They married on a cruise ship and spent their retirement cruising the seas and traveling the globe. Their excursions included New York City, Washington D.C., Hawaii, the Panama Canal, Alaska and the Caribbean’s. Their travels brought many smiles, pictures and spirited conversations about where they were going, where they had been, and all the things they had seen and done.
“Kay,” dedicated a lot of her time to helping others. She assisted in physical therapy with special needs children, worked in the food pantry, and cared for families, as hospice care volunteer. She was also a local author and publisher. “Kay” was also a member of First Baptist Church of Hewitt, were she dedicated her life to her Lord and Savior.She was preceded in death by her parents, Wilbur and Alma Till Lewis; brother, Ronnie Lewis;
She is survived by her sister, Sue Channon, of Moody; brother, Mitch Lewis, and wife Dorothy, of Waco; son, Steve Paul, and wife Anne; daughters, Carol Burum, and husband Neil, of Garden City, Kansas, Lynda Shimodoi, and husband Alton, Maui, Hawaii; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
