Anneliese Dupart

Anneliese (Kremer) DuPart, born January 6, 1928 in Dietz, Germany to Heinrich and Else (Kahn) Kremer passed away May 13, 2021 at Sodalis Memory Care.

She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Victor Louis DuPart, Waco, Texas; three children: Michael DuPart and wife Mary Lou (Flynn), Alvin ,TX; Christine Cowan and husband Brad, Edinburg, TX; David DuPart and wife Susan (Buhay), Roswell, GA; 6 grandchildren: Drew Cowan and wife Laura, San Antonio, TX, Russell Cowan and wife Krystal, Reno, NV, Kevin Cowan and wife Sarah, Ingleside, TX, Glen Cowan and wife Colette, Humble, TX, Amanda (DuPart) Christo and husband Nick, Lake Mary, FL; Meredith DuPart and fiancé Johnny House, Columbus, MS. Seventeen great grands: Brooke, Taylor and Natalie Cowan, San Antonio; Donnie Carl, Jason Carl, Isabel and James Cowan, Reno; Alice and Henry Cowan, Ingleside; Hazel and Julianne Cowan, Humble; Jacob, Jaden, Tyler, Tessa, and Troy Christo, Lake Mary; and Jacob House, Columbus.

She was predeceased by her parents, Heinrich and Else Kremer and younger sister Stephanie Kremer Reusch. Surviving family in Germany include her brother in law Gunther Reusch, nephews, Stefan, Hans Peter, and Klaus Reusch and niece Ursula Reusch, their spouses and numerous great nieces and nephews.

Anneliese is a graduate of St Mary Catholic School (Marienschule) in Limburg, Germany and the Foreign Language Institute of Johann Gutenberg University Mainz in Germersheim, Germany. She worked as a secretary, translator and interpreter for the US Residence Office in Limburg after WW2 and then for the foreign departments of two German firms in Frankfurt.

She met the love of her life while working in Frankfurt. Vic was stationed there with the US Army. A friend convinced her to go with her to a newly formed German American Social Club. That was April 23rd, they were engaged June 2nd, and married October 9th!! Love at first sight that lasted over 66 years. Vic was transferred to Toul, France shortly before they married. They had three months there before Vic’s discharge from service and their move to Detroit, Michigan, Vic’s hometown. They lived in the metro Detroit area until 1973 when a company transfer brought them to Waco, TX.

Anneliese and Victor were faithful members of St. Louis Catholic Church in Waco. She has been active in Catholic organizations, Catholic Youth in Germany and Catholic Women’s Guild in Detroit. She had a fabulous talent for interior decorating, loved to crochet, work crossword puzzles, and bowl. For many years her beautiful crocheted lap robes were donated at Christmas to the VA Hospital.

Services will be held Thursday, May 20th, 2 pm at the Oakcrest Funeral Home in Waco. Visitation will be from 1-2 pm. Rev. Rick Aguilar. MDiv.CC, of Amedisys Hospice, will be officiating.
