OBITUARY

Anthony (Square) Alessandra, 87 of Waco passed away on Saturday February 26, 2005.
Services will be at 10 am Tuesday at the Cogdell United Methodist Church, 1201 W. Loop 340 with Steve Langford officiating. Burial will follow at Rosemound Cemetery.
Visitation will be Monday from 5 to 7 pm at OakCrest Funeral Home, 4520 Bosque Blvd. A memorial DVD of his life will be shown during the visitation.
Anthony was born on January 1, 1918 in Waco to Nick and Josephine Alessandra. He was united in marriage to the love of his life, DD on November 28, 1946. She passed away July22, 2004.
He was a Baylor University graduate, loved dancing with DD, playing tennis and golf. Anthony served in the U.S. Army during WWII, and was a life long member of the Cogdell United Methodist Church where he taught Sunday school. He was known as the candy man by all the children.
Anthony also worked for Abbott Laboratories for over forty years.
He is survived by his daughters, Nancy Guggenbickler and husband. Mike of Arlington and Debbie Howard and husband. Bill of Waco; three grandchildren, Ashley Wallon and husband Stephen Thomas of Roanoke, Sam Howard of Waco and Toni Guggenbickler of Los Angeles; great grandchild, Peighton Nicole Wallon of Roanoke; sister, Mary Lewis of Houston; sister-in-law, Helen Morris and husband, Gene of Irving; sister-in-law, Esther Bunn of San Angelo and numerous nieces and nephews.
