Ardas Glenn Alexander, Jr., 34, passed away December 29, 2011. Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, January 4, 2012 at Pleasant Olive Missionary Baptist Church, with Dr. Willie E. Clarke officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery.
Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, January 3, at OakCrest Funeral Home, 4520 Bosque Boulevard.
Ardas' journey began October 26, 1977 in Midland. His family moved to Waco in 1979. He graduated from Waco High School in 1996 and entered the workforce, finishing at Coca-Cola where he was employed nine years before his journey ended December 29, 2011 after battling Sickle Cell Anemia for 34 years.
Ardas was a quiet, smart, young man and a very hard worker, humorous, and very brave. He was truthful and always said what was on his mind. He will be truly missed .
Ardas is survived by his long-term companion, Sharon Armstrong; father, Ardas G. Alexander Sr.; mother, Alice Alexander of Waco; brother, Jarvis Alexander and wife Samara of Crowley; sister, Felisha Bates and husband Chris of San Antonio; grandmother, Ella Taylor of Midland; five aunts; three uncles; six nieces and nephews, and a host of cousins and friends.
