Arline Lummus Gardner, 82, of Waco passed away Friday, February 4, 2011. Memorial services will be 4 p.m. Friday at OakCrest Funeral Home. Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home
Arline Lummus was born in Kosse, Texas to Eva and George Lummus. Arline owned a beauty salon in the old Cox depatment store building during the 1960s and a wig shop in the 1970s. She worked at the Mexia State School beginning in 1974 and retired in 1994. She was a loving mother and grandmother.
Mrs. Gardner was preceded in death by her husband John Gardner.
Arline is survived by her son Don Echols, wife Irene, and grandson, Derek Andrew Echols, all of Bakersfield, Cal; son, Jerry Echols and wife Margaret; grandsons Jeremy Scott Echols, Jonathan Paul Echols, wife Kendra, and granddaughter Hallie Shea Echols, all of Waco.
Memorials may be made to the Gideons of Waco.
