Arnold Shelton

James Arnold Shelton 84, of Waco passed away Friday May 23, 2014 in Waco. Services will be held Tuesday May 27 at 2:00 PM in Oakwood Cemetery with Ed Carter officiating. Visitation will be Monday May 26, from 5 - 7 at OakCrest Funeral Home, 4520 Bosque Blvd.

Arnold was born August 30, 1929 in Waco to Whittsitt and Lula Shelton. On December 30, 1949 in Waco, he married Louise McCarter. He loved to hunt deer and dove. He was a Deacon at Columbus Baptist Church and a member of the Lion's Club. He loved his God, his family and his friends and was a kind and gentle soul. He was willing to help anyone who needed help.

Arnold was preceded in death by his parents.

Arnold is survived by his wife Louise of Waco, daughter Kristie Callis and husband Bryant of Flower Mound,two brothers: Whittsitt Shelton and wife Katy of Arlington, Tate Shelton and wife Marynell of Waco,grandson: James David Johnson and wife Letti of Port Lavaca and two great grandcildren: Kylie and Madysen Johnson.

The family would like to thank the caregivers of Visiting Angels, Senior Care, Providence Hospital and Providence Hospice Care.
