Arthur Derosier

Arthur John DeRosier passed away peacefully on July 15, 2022, from complications related to Parkinson’s disease. He fought the disease for years with the same grit, tenacity, and humor he approached life with!

Arthur was born on October 21, 1940, New York (Buffalo) to John and Lillian DeRosier. He had 3 brothers Joe, John, and Jimmy that preceded him in death and is survived by his youngest brother Richard “Dick” (Carol) of Virginia. He told many colorful stories about his younger years building cars, running from the law, outwitting his father, and hanging out with friends. He loved telling the story about not paying for insurance on his car and then hiding it from his father so he would not take it away. In fact, Arthur was full of amusing stories of his youthful escapades that he lovingly shared frequently with everyone. Arthur graduated in 1957 from Burgard Vocational Highschool, where he learned the printing trade.

Always on the go, Arthur lived in New York, Oregon, and Alabama. He then moved to Texas in 1982 and landed a job at Waco Print & Stationery. Arthur always had a sharp eye for detail and enjoyed his career as a letter pressman for 25 years. Arthur loved sharing stories about his time at Waco Print. He enjoyed telling people about “his” machines that only “he” could operate! After retirement he worked for Kish’s Complete Car Care and A-Line Auto Parts sharing stories with most everyone who would listen.

Arthur had a passion for fixing things and being outside. Often referred to as “Macgyver”, many of his fixes were simple but effective. In fact, when his kids were younger, he would look for bicycles that had been discarded. Then he would spend the winter in the basement using the parts to build the kids a “new” bicycle. You could often find him mowing, washing, or tinkering on his much-loved trucks, usually without a shirt, so that he could maintain his tan. Arthur loved to compare his tan to everyone else’s and attributed it to his Indian blood, even though he really didn’t have any Indian blood!

Arthur had a charismatic way with ladies which led him to have several wives- thankfully not at the same time! He is survived by his 5th wife-Sue Richardson DeRosier. Left to continue sharing his stories are his 5 children: David DeRosier and wife Trina, Ruth Rogers and husband Randy, Yvonne Majkut and husband Joe, Marty DeRosier, and Monique DeRosier. His 10 grandchildren: Emily DeRosier, Marissa DeRosier, Celia Majkut, Kayleigh Majkut, Stacey Gill, Sara DeRosier, Joe DeRosier, Tyler DeRosier, Chad DeRosier, Jackson Fuszara. His 3 great-grandchildren: Blake Gill, Jade Gill, & Logan DeRosier.

Arthur can now rest easy having a cigarette, drinking coffee, and sharing updated stories with his parents, brothers, x-wives, and granddaughter, Stephanie Rose Gena.

It is with love that the family requests you stop by Oakcrest Funeral home on Friday, July 22, 2022, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. for a visitation and final opportunity to share stories about our special dad, grandpa, and husband.
