Arthur Rivas
December 22, 1940 ~ February 9, 2025
Arthur Rivas, 84, of Waco, Texas passed away on Sunday, February 9, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. Arthur was born in Limestone County on December 22, 1940, to Fred (Federico) and Eduvijen (Nabjar) Rivas.
Arthur Rivas was such a wonderful person, known for his warm heart and dedication to his Catholic faith, family, and the community. He had a knack for puzzles and card games, always bringing his strategic skills to the table and enjoying a fun challenge. Sometimes, for a little extra excitement, he’d purchase lottery tickets just for the thrill of it!
His dedication really shone brightly at the Veteran’s Administration, where he devotedly cared deeply for others. As a proud member of the Knights of Columbus, Third and Fourth degrees at the St. Francis Council and Assembly, Sir Knight Arthur Rivas truly embodied the value of faith, charity, unity, and patriotism. He always greeted everyone he met with a warm and friendly smile.
Anyone fortunate enough to know him was touched by his cheerful spirit and kindness. His love glowed for his beloved wife Lucy, whom he affectionately called “Honey”. He will always be remembered fondly and missed dearly by all whose life he brightened.
Arthur was preceded in death by his parents; great-grandson, DeLuca Melendez; brothers, Joe Rivas, Domingo Rivas, and Jessie Rivas; and sister, Elvira Frias.
